Installation Questions
Q. I plan to have vinyl windows installed in my new or existing home. How can I be sure the contractor, remodeler or window installer is qualified to install vinyl windows?
A. We suggest you ask your contractor, remodeler or window installer for local references and contact them. Call your local area Builder's Association. Check with the Better Business Bureau in your area. Also, you may want to ask who their building supply distributor is, then contact the distributor for more information.
Q. What are egress requirements?
A. Egress requirements indicate a minimum opening size that certain windows must meet. These requirements tend to vary from region to region, so please contact your local building code official for egress requirements in your area.
The First Choice window presents a streamlined appearance while providing outstanding performance. For a more dramatic effect or to meet historical guidelines, utilize simulated divided lite grids (SDL). Here the First Choice window is shown in a colonial style SDL configuration of 6/1.
